Telegraphic Writing
As I was looking over some of my old projects, it hit me that my telegraphic style of writing can be off-putting. Well, I don't plan to become Hemingway or Shakespeare anytime soon anyway.
Just picked this post to leave this particular comment on, but it applies to many of your posts. My eyes don't like the way that some of your posts are displayed - as if they have a white background. It reminds me of them being highlighted by my mouse. That technique doesn't visually mesh well with the blue background of your chosen blog theme. It would be better if the background were white, rather than it displays, now.
I'm just one person, of course, but any of your posts that are displayed in their current manner of that white highlighted look against a blue background, I won't be tempted to read. In fact, quite the opposite, as my eyes simply urge me to not read any of those.
I just popped in to your blog to browse a little bit, coming from X, which is where I originally came into contact with you. I'm gonna browse a little bit more, here, but I very much like that your Blog Archive over on the right hand side shows a lot of your blog posts going back a number of years.
You also might wish to consider breaking your About Me post into more than one paragraph. The eye doesn't tend to embrace large masses of text as well. That section of text displays in a narrow column on my computer screen, so it ends up looking like a bigger mass of text than it actually is.
Regardless, I wish you well with it, and with your pursuits as a book author, Charles.
Thank you for your observations. I often lift my posts off of other websites and the annoying white lines you don't like are a byproduct. I will revise my bio according to your suggestions. Again, thank you.
Not sure if you've ever tried it, but if you will copy and paste such posts/quotes into a text editor like Notepad, first, you may find that just might "solve" that white background problem. I can't guarantee it, but it might be worth a try.
